Infused Water with Nettles + Horsetail

I’m always looking to get more plants in my life and one of my favorite and most delish ways is to make infused water.

I have naturally thin hair and due to stress over the last year and a half, my hair had become even more thin and the stress has been wreaking havoc on my skin causing hormonal breakouts.

In addition to some lifestyle changes to combat the stress, I’ve been making and drinking infused water. My favorite blend at the moment has been nettles, horsetail, and a tea blend called Orange Blossom from my favorite local tea shop. Nettles and Horsetail are both supposed to be great for the hair and skin. I buy my nettles in bulk from my local health food store, and the horsetail is foraged locally.

Instead of the Orange Blossom blend, I sometimes use Tulsi, Chocolate Mint, or Lemon Balm all from my garden. It just depends on what I feel like that day. But I always use the Nettles and Horsetail.

I use a large tea ball strainer filled with my mix, and then add it to a large pitcher of water. I allow to steep overnight in the fridge and drink throughout the day- no sweetner added. I usually can get 2 pitchers worth of the infused goodness before I have to make a new batch of herbs.

I have slowly been noticing a difference these last 2 months since I’ve made some additional changes to my lifestyle to combat the stress. I even treated myself to a facial last week and the facialist couldn’t believe my age (I turned 40 this past year). She said I had amazing clear skin, full of elasticity with hardly any blemishes. She also couldn’t believe I have a pretty minimum skincare routine full of only hommade products I make myself.

**Please note- this book does not contain step-by-step instructions for creating each product. It is a book of my formulas I’ve spent years wildcrafting and perfecting. This book can be used at any skill level, however, if you are looking for step-by-step instructions, this book isn’t it. I do dedicate an entire resource section in the book on the best places to learn the basic concepts of working with these formulas, especially for cold-pressed soaps. I have recently started a YouTube channel where I am sharing more of the creation steps if you’d like to follow along.
